THE new play PS I Love You, set in Melbourne during World War II, will premier at Mt Martha House.

The play was written by actor Sally McLean, who is also director. Other cast members are Alan Fletcher, Debra Byrne, Kathleen Ronchi and Alesha Bellairs.

PS I Love You follows the stories of 10 people caught up in the chaos and uncertainty of World War II. Their stories are connected by love - the one thing that war cannot kill.

The play also explores realities present in Melbourne in the early 1940s, such as heightened fear and anxiety, "the brown out murders" and the independence of women as they joined the military and workforce to help Australia survive the war.

Producers invite anyone who experienced the Melbourne home front during World War II, particularly on the peninsula, to contribute to a display of images and stories to be displayed in the foyer of Mt Martha House.

The play will be performed on Saturday, July 31. Tickets cost $10/$5, including refreshments, and are available at the door, or by booking. Doors open 7.30pm with curtain up at 8pm.
